Are THE Tax U webinars registered with NASBA?

The Garvs, LLC (dba The Tax U) is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.

Are THE Tax U webinars taught with a real time instructor?

The webinars are either 1) taught with a real time instructor (i.e., live) or 2) rebroadcasting a prior live program with a real time expert facilitator (i.e., replay). Either way, the seminars are considered Live classes and no exam is required to obtain CE hours.

Do you have to take exams for webinar CE credit?

No. Under NASBA rules, THE Tax U classes are considered live and offered as either: 1) Group Live or 2) Group Internet Based.  Thus, no exam is required. However, attendance checks will be monitored to receive CE credit.

Does THE Tax U offer self-study courses?

No. THE Tax U does not currently offer any self-study courses.

Are THE Tax U classes considered live classes under NASBA rules?

Yes. All THE Tax U classes are offered as either: 1) Group Live or 2) Group Internet Based.  

What is a Group Live class?

Group Live programs are synchronous learning activities delivered in a “group” environment with real time interaction of an instructor or subject matter expert that provides the required elements of attendance monitoring and engagement.

Group Live examples include:

  • classroom setting with a real time instructor
  • participation in a group setting calling in to a teleconference
  • participation in a group setting watching a rebroadcast of a program with a real time subject matter expert facilitator
What is a Group Internet Based class?

A Group Internet Based program is defined as “Individual” participation in synchronous learning with real time interaction of an instructor or subject matter expert and built-in processes for attendance and interactivity. 

Group Internet Based examples include:

  • participation in a webcast individually
  • participation in a broadcast of a Group Live presentation (even if everyone else is in a Group Live setting, if the participant is alone, his participation is Group Internet Based)
  • participants calling into a conference call on an individual basis (a participant calling into a conference call qualifies as Group Internet Based and requires a monitoring mechanism)

        What is The Garvs, LLC (dba The Tax U) cancellation policy?

        The Garvs, LLC reserves the right to cancel a scheduled education session if unforeseen events affect our ability to host the session or if there is an insufficient number of registrants for the program. If we cancel an event we will always try to provide notice to registrants in a timely manner. Additionally, all registration fees charged in association with the event will be refunded using the original payment method. No refunds will be issued for any program being offered free of charge.

            What is The Garvs, LLC (dba The Tax U) refund policy?

            Individual Webinar Events

            Registration fees for an individual webinar event hosted by The Garvs, LLC are eligible for a full refund up to 7 days before the scheduled start date of the event. For cancellations within 7 days of the event (prior to the event starting time), a registrant can:

            1. Switch to the same webinar title, on a different date or
            2. Receive a refund that represents 50% of the registration fee paid for the event.
            NOTE – No refunds or transfers will be issued after the event starts.

             

            Packaged Webinar Events – Individual

            Individual packaged webinar events (e.g., 40 hours for reduced price) are for a single person and cannot be transferred to anyone. These registration fees are eligible for a 100% refund within 30-days of purchase and must be used within one year from date of purchase. Registered events under the package cannot be cancelled within 7 days of the event and will be treated as redeemed.

            NOTE – No refunds will be issued after 30-days of purchase or within 30-days of purchase if any event has been redeemed (i.e., registered for an event and not cancelled within 7-days of event date).

             

            Packaged Webinar Events – Groups

            Group packaged webinar events (e.g., 200 hours for reduced price) can be used for multiple persons within your firm and can be transferred to another individual. These registration fees are eligible for a 100% refund within 30-days of purchase and must be used within one year from date of purchase. Registered events under the package cannot be cancelled within 7 days of the event and will be treated as redeemed.

            NOTE – No refunds will be issued after 30-days of purchase or within 30-days of purchase if any event has been redeemed (i.e., registered for an event and not cancelled within 7-days of event date).
